Stretching yourself is challenging

As previously mentioned, I’m visually impaired, and so doing seemingly normal things can actually be quite nerve racking at times, and let’s just say that today was the day for my first change.

Today was a pretty exciting day!! I of course started out with having class which was pretty good, we’re finally getting into some content covering he ride of the dictatorship in Spain in the 1930s… At least I’m pretty sure that’s the right timeline so far.

Anyway after that I spent a lunch with my host program as we tried three different types of food, although the portions were pretty small, but oh well it was certainly quite tasty.

I finally joined someone in getting an afternoon coffee which was honesty great, though I will say that I was not expecting that at least for this place, doughnut sizes are quote large for not too much money, so I had a pretty amazing chocolate and cheesecake doughnut!!!

Now comes the fun!

For this afternoons class, I got to go to the center of Barcelona to take a look at some of the original roman ruins that still made up the city. This was actually quote cool and certainly a neat experience at getting to look at the architecture of the past.

And yes this is it, I was basically dropped off at the metro for the first time this afternoon, thankfully at the right metro line, and made it back home for the first time.

To say that it was stressful is an understatement, in fact I don’t know I certainly took the wrong set of stairs to exit the station, though thankfully there’s not much in getting off at the wrong spot there.

All in all, it went well, I made it home (clearly if I’m writing this post) and yeah, here we are, it can and should only get easier from here as I begin to learn the system and how to use it more effectively.
